MK is delighted to be recruiting for a Design Engineer for one of our clients based in North Lanarkshire.

They are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system design, root cause analysis, and proficiency in CAD software.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve mechanical design issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of mechanical systems into larger projects.
- Create detailed schematics and technical drawings for manufacturing purposes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to select appropriate materials and components for mechanical systems.

Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for 3D modelling and drafting
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify design issues and propose solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

The successful candidate will ideally hold a Mechanical/chemical or physics degree with defence compliance experience.
