- To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety of patients with a wide variety of clinical needs including: High-risk, Diabetes, Neuropathy, Chronic disease, Wound management/ tissue viability, MSK, Patients with mental illness or learning difficulties.
- To be responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of new patients within community podiatry and with the subsequent production and completion of individual care plans which may include administration of local anaesthesia, the provision of nail surgery, orthotics, wound management and provision of appropriate foot health education advice to individuals and groups of patients.
- To be responsible for the referral of patients who require the intervention of other professionals and other departmental specialist areas, by following agreed departmental referral pathways e.g. into the acute podiatry pathway or to podiatric surgery
- To work under as an autonomous podiatrist with the support of senior colleagues.

- To carry out annual diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance which includes Vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound assessment
- To have highly developed physical skills, precision hand/eye co-ordination for prolonged periods and as required when carrying out surgical techniques and specialist debridement.
- To carry out diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance which includes Vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound assessment
- Degree in Podiatry or equivalent
- HCPC Registration as a Podiatrist
- Local anaesthetic certificate
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Willing to develop competencies to support community nursing team
- Postgraduate Certificates
- Post registration experience
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Experience of creating and evaluating treatment plans
- Experience of nail surgery techniques
- Experience of treatment of high risk patient groups
- Experience of MSK assessments
- Experience of working within teams
- Experience of working in a community setting, including patients place of residence.
- Understanding of Confidentiality and record keeping
- Excellent standard of written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work
- Understanding of the principles of lone working
- Able to use electronic medical records eg SystemOne ( training provided).
- Ability to work under the pressures of demanding and competing priorities

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual, someone to join our small team and provide Podiatry interventions and use specialist knowledge in order to promote clinical excellence.
The podiatry service prides itself on an integrated approach to support our patients and colleagues. Working within the integrated service will allow you the opportunity to work closely with our many community colleagues including our various nursing and acute teams.
