An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within our Department.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the MDT Coordinators and Cancer Pathway Navigators.


As the team leader you will also supervise/mentor the MDT Coordinators and Navigators, carry out appraisals and personal development plans under the guidelines of knowledge and skills framework.

They will ensure that there is adequate staff cover for MDT meetings, tracking, data collection and oversight of the Patient Tracking Lists and meetings.

You may be asked to deputise in the absence of the Deputy Service Delivery Manager.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the MDTs are covered, the PTL is fully tracked and may be asked to be involved in any local pathway improvement projects.


Team Leaders Duties:


To line manage the MDT Coordinators and Cancer Pathway Navigators, managing annual leave, ensuring that adequate cross cover arrangements are in place and to allocate daily tasks to members of the cancer team, in order of priority.

Ensuring responsibilities within the team are covered in the event of sickness and annual leave.


To identify training needs within the team, through regular discussion, appraisal and personal development plans and be responsible for overseeing the accuracy of all aspects of data entry within the team.

Reporting to the Deputy Cancer Delivery Manager and Cancer Delivery Manager as appropriate.


To help design and build simple databases for local data collection and produce ad-hoc reports on cancer patients on request.

Responsible for stationery stock control, completing and ordering on a Non-stock req.
