Overall purpose of role


The role holder will lead the global technology engineering teams responsible for building and maintain the next generation of the Online Digital Client payments system for Corporate, a team size of over 100 people.

This role requires a deep understanding of financial technology, corporate and investment banking and exceptional programme management skills.

It is pivotal in ensuring we deliver against our MGI commitments and support the firm's revenue ambitions while improving the services for our existing client base.

Key Accountabilities


Manage and deliver all changes made on the Digital Client Payments Application (DCP) ensuring that the team support multiple projects simultaneously and leading a large team that will use the latest technology and methodologies to deliver business outcomes for the Corporate Bank.


  • Creating and managing programme plans against agreed business cases from inception through delivery to closure, partnering the Accountable Executive and ensuring that we deliver technology solutions accurately.
  • Drive the adoption of contemporary engineering techniques to deliver solutions consistently across all teams.
  • Ensure an agreed architectural roadmap is in place aligned with Corporate and Group strategy
  • Manage all risk within the platform ensuring transparency and alignment to group risk processes
  • Manage the required crossskilling and reskilling of the organisation to be proficient in the new tools and techniques
  • Help define and deliver the developer experience for the Corporate Digital Bank.
  • Lead the teams technically so they fully understanding the underlying systems, tools and processes to ensure that the required transformation is delivered.
  • Provide thought leadership on the transformation and have the ability to evolve, modify and adapt the strategy as things change.
  • Drive adoption of modern development tools including BDD, DevOps adoption, agile working practices and cloud adoption.
  • Managing the L3 support activities and lead the response to production incidents.
  • Manage talent and help grow leadership within the Engineering department
  • Manage multiple stakeholders locally and globally including at Managing Director level.
  • Ensure all team members understand their roles and celebrate success.
