The Sefton Homeless Psychology Service is looking to recruit a dedicated, experienced, compassionate and talented Assistant Psychologist.

This is an opportunity to be involved in the development and delivery of a new and innovative service.

This post represents an important step in the growth of the service, and we are looking for an applicant that can demonstrate the necessary clinical skill, knowledge and experience, alongside personal values that are matched to the demands of the role and the ethos of the service.

The role of the assistant clinical psychologist is to support the delivery of the psychological services within the service.

The role will involve contributing to the operation and evaluation of clinical pathways, consulting with stakeholders and showing leadership in the delivery of psychosocial assessment and interventions, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.

To undertake psychological assessments, including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, and others involved in the client's care, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.


To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.

To collate and report audit data in order to meet the audit requirements of the service.


To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings.

To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
