- The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the forensic outreach liaison service.
- The service has a significant role in supporting Kent patients and their treating teams in developing clearly identified and safe care pathways.
- The post holder will support clinical teams and patients in secure hospitals in the discharge planning process.
- The post holder will work collaboratively with private providers, other disciplines, service user and their carers to provider expert knowledge and assessment, helping to identify appropriate clinical pathways and timely reviews. Specifically focusing on out of area beds and reduction in the lengths of stay.
- To provide input or chair the FOLS weekly case review meetings, Provider Collaborative Tracker meetings, TGU referrals and KSS referrals meetings.
- Provide risk reduction work by providing advice to other secondary care services, the probation service, MAPPA and other relevant authorities and through risk assessments, risk reviews and attendance at risk forums.

As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist based at The Trevor Gibbens Unit in Kent, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service and actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.
Successful applicants will ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent and be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register. You will be fully registered with the GMC, and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).
