Elderly, Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Complex Care, End of Life and Companionship for children and adults.

To us, understanding the needs of the client is mandatory and therefore will endeavour to create a specific team of Health Care Assistants to build a rapport with the client needing our help.


The role as a Health Care Assistant:
Our position is to look after a client in their 20s in Herne Bay who requires 24hour care.

The lady is non-verbal, communicates via Makaton and has complex care needs including:

  • PEG
  • Central Line
  • Mitrofanoff Catheter
  • Ileostomy Stoma
  • Behaviours that may Challenge
  • Altered States of Consciousness
  • Any previous experience managing these complex needs is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. _

We are looking for Health Care Assistants to spend 12 hour days (8am 8pm) with the client to:

  • Provide personal care and assist to get dressed.
  • Empty Ileostomy bag and change and provide skin care around Stoma.
  • Pass as required catheter via Mitrofanoff Stoma to drain urine and cleansed skin as required.
  • Assist with eating / drinking food and drinks of her choice.
  • Assist movement around the home using suitable moving and handling equipment whilst maintaining safety.
  • Administer prescribed medications via Peg tube.
  • Monitor pain and administer PRN pain relief as required via Peg.
  • Provide emotional support and maintain clear working boundaries and social stimulation.
  • Provide psychological and social support by doing activities together that stimulate mentally, helping to gain and hold attention and help to interact with others.
  • Encouraging communication and focusing on other topics other than physical health needs. This may include activities within and outside of the home.
