    Description

As a team, we truly value the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life. When you reach out to us, let's have a conversation about how we can support flexible working arrangements to ensure your work seamlessly integrates with your life outside of work.

Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine (ST4+) – 80:20 Research

If you have a passion for research, here's what you'll do:

    • Join a renowned interdisciplinary research team on a global scale
    • Engage in various research projects within Emergency Care, covering areas such as pre-hospital care, resuscitation, pediatrics, and more
    • Contribute to tasks like literature review, patient enrollment, data analysis, and more
    • Get the chance to present your findings at national conferences
    • Expand your skills and bolster your CV

The role of senior clinical fellow involves spending 80% of your time in the adult emergency department and dedicating the remaining 20% to pursuing a specialized area of your interest. These positions are available for EM HSTs for OOPT/E purposes, as standalone roles for non-trainees, and can be entirely dedicated to Emergency Medicine if needed. We are also open to applications from SAS and Specialty Doctors.

These roles offer an excellent environment for successful candidates to cultivate their own niche interests while working in a vibrant inner-city university hospital, with responsibilities in teaching and research, predominantly in the adult section of the department.

Applicants should possess a relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCEM, MRCP, MRCS, FRCA or equivalent), and should be at ST4 level or higher, having completed a minimum of 3 years in approved SHO positions or equivalent in pertinent acute specialties, with at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine.

This role entails a combination of service provision, including out-of-hours work, and dedicated time for developing a specialized interest. It allows the candidate to merge an Emergency Medicine role with a 20% allocation for a specialized interest. Specializations can range from education (SIM/FOAMed), global health, to research, and more. If you have a unique interest not mentioned, we are open to accommodating that as well. Whether you are a trainee or not, you are welcome to apply. For trainees with a UK National Training Number in Emergency Medicine, these roles qualify for OOPT or OOPE.
