Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Team Leadership/Supervision:


  • Assist with the leadership and organisation of the Kitchen Assistants within daily CPK operations
  • Communicate professional with team members to ensure achievement of work tasks to quality standards and timeliness
  • Lead team members in day to day attendance, performance standards and conduct/behaviour expectations
  • Participate in recruitment interviews for new team members
  • Support on the job induction planning and training
  • Work effectively and supportively with Somerset Larder colleagues across the business in the interests of maintaining a professional work environment
  • Instruct and guide colleagues on the required food production policies and procedures and Food Safety Quality Manual standards

Operations:


  • Assist Chef and Kitchen Assistants with food preparation and production throughout the CPK, ensuring that the agreed operating standards are consistently achieved, as agreed with the manager/supervisor on duty.
  • Ensure that the production and service of food/dishes is delivered to the specified requirements and agreed standards, as agreed with the manager/supervisor on duty
  • Assist with the receipt and storage of goods deliveries and dispatch across the business, ensuring that that control systems and standards are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain, understand and instruct colleagues on their personal responsibility for Food Hygiene, Health and Safety relating to food production and services whilst performing duties, consistently following required legal compliance and best practice in line with policy and procedure and embracing the ZERO harm culture.
  • Assist with the safe keeping and maintenance of the equipment and machinery to the required standards of hygiene and safety
  • Assist and support across the operational boundaries within Somerset Larder as the business dictates, inkeeping with the role and/or working development opportunities

Health, Safety, Environmental and Service:


  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant H&S legislation, HACCP and Codes of Practice, together with any specific company requirements of key customers.
  • Contribute to the ordering of all raw materials, packaging, consumables and cleaning chemicals as and when required.
  • Advise relevant managers of all planned maintenance required or carried out and any repairs following unplanned breakdowns.
  • Following the receipt of any customer complaints, assist in investigation of the cause and recommend/implement appropriate corrective action. Work with managers to complete a trend analysis of customer complaints.
  • Drive and support Zero Harm Culture with colleagues.
  • Ensure that all personal actions are in line with the overall environmental aims of Somerset Larder, undertaking all tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner promoting environmental sustainability where opportunity presents.
