Description

About the role:

The UK has set out its ambition to be net zero by 2050 and the energy industry is responding - together we are building a cleaner, greener Britain.

Focusing on our key priorities, you'll help in minimising carbon emissions, fostering biodiversity, and leaving a positive enduring legacy.

You'll take a lead in monitoring performance and compliance against the sustainability plan, developing a positive sustainability culture across the project, supporting the successful delivery of high-profile construction projects.

  • This role is hybrid based, aligned to our North
  • North East projects therefore applicants should be open to travel across this geography and with occasional travel to visit our partners in Scotland.
  • We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

About you:

What we do isn't just important - it's essential. That's why we look to recruit experts in their field.

In this case, we're looking for someone who has:

  • Environmental/sustainability experience within major project delivery
  • Experience of positively influencing a wider project team and external stakeholders
  • The capability to engage and inform internal and external stakeholders in positive, constructive ways
  • Knowledge of best practice in relation to environmental and sustainable delivery management (eg BREEAM/CEEQUAL)
Given the geographical breadth of our projects, applicants will require a UK driving license

What you'll do:

You'll be working in partnership with the Joint Venture's Sustainability Manager in the development and implementation of the project sustainability strategy, working with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve our sustainability goals.

Measuring our sustainability performance, you will ensure sustainability reporting requirements are met in an efficient manner, advising project leadership on sustainability goals, opportunities, and performance.

You will take the lead in the development, training, and implementation of sustainability frameworks and practices across the project,
including BREEAM Infrastructure and PAS 2080.

All this will enable the construction contractors to meet the ambitious project requirements.

What you'll get:

A competitive starting salary between £50,000 - £60,000 - dependent on capability.

A vehicle may be provided depending on location and likely business mileage.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
