    PAXMAN ACADEMY

    TEACHER OF MATHS

    Pay Range: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale

    Actual Salary from: £30,000 - £46,525 (M1 – U3)

    Start Date: September 2024

    The Role

    We are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher of Maths. The position will suit an experienced or newly qualified teacher.

    We believe that every child matters and by working collaboratively we can transform lives and Build Bright Futures. Paxman Academy opened to Year 7 students in September 2019 and is a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 Academy with a PAN of 180. We are a heavily oversubscribed school which is held in high regard in the community. Our recent Ofsted inspection (Feb 24) rated our school as Good.

    Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be fully qualified to teach through the secondary range for Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for the subject which will inspire student progress
  • Demonstrate a capacity to design materials that are adapted and will engage students in the learning process
  • Experience of IT and a willingness to use it to plan and teach lessons (The full details can be found in the attached Job Outline and Person Specification).

  • Qualified Teacher Status (Suitable for ECTs)
  • Ability to teach lessons that challenge all students in Maths
  • A passion for teaching and making a real difference to young people
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection. In addition to internal CPD at Paxman Academy, staff have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Sigma Trust to share resources, ideas and build collaborative relationships. Excellent support is provided by the Sigma Trust through Strategic Leads in each Faculty. Opportunities are available to teach at Key Stage 5 at a partner school. Our annual Sigma INSET day is an opportunity to hear from national speakers and share great practice across our family of schools.
