The Planning Unit of Library and University Collections
Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm) and based on campus.
Contract type - Open Ended
**The Collections Supervisor is based at the Main Library but works flexibly across the Main Library, University Collections Facility and nine site libraries to manage two Collections Assistants in carrying out a range of print collections activity.
The Opportunity:
The Collections Supervisor manages staff and processes relating to a range of activity relating to print General Collections at the Main Library, site libraries and University Collections Facility.
The Collections Supervisor undertakes the systematic ongoing review and rationalisation of print General Collections in support of strategic objectives and Library and Estates projects as well as contributing to the management of the Main Library Shelving & Retrieval team.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Experience of working in Library
Knowledge of national collaborative collections initiatives including UKRR
Experience of managing, developing and motivating staff
Good general IT skills including a thorough knowledge of library management systems
Ability to work flexibly, including across multiple library sites
