Description

Maintains the Trusts Out of Hours contact policy and is the first point of contact for the resolution of clinical problems out of hours.

Attends and assists with all medical emergencies within area of responsibility utilising Advanced Life Support Skills and experience.

Works unsupervised delivering a high standard of nursing care, promoting good standards of professional competence, whilst working closely with other professionals.

Directs the Critical Care Outreach team to sick patients/emergencies, collaborating with other MDT members.

Acts in a supportive, informative and sensitive manner towards patients, relatives, visitors and colleagues at all times. Maintains accurate and legible records of all clinical documentation with regards to Statutory and Trust policies. Facilitates and assists other team members with record keeping documentation. Refers clinical problems to medical staff, outreach team and Duty Nurse Manager when necessary.


Provides clinical and professional support and advice to all nursing staff and junior medical staff as and when appropriate Keeps updated with clinical developments, is aware of advances in clinical care and able to facilitate nursing staff in the implementation of knowledge gained.
