    Are you interested in working in a Laboratory environment? Do you have the ability to follow instructions and processes? We are recruiting for a Lab Assistant to support our clients team in the laboratory carrying our routine tasks required to keep the lab running smoothly
    Our client is offering full training, a lab background is not required. We welcome applications from all backgrounds if you have the ability to learn

    The successful candidate will be joining a global rapid diagnostics testing business based in Dundee, working 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri.

    This position is offered as a contract opportunity for 3 months initially covering long term sickness, with the potential to be extended.


    Responsibilities:
    To undertake routine tasks as instructed in a timely, reliable and safe manner
    Equipment maintenance
    Housekeeping
    Stock ordering using internal requisition (IR) and purchase orders (PO)
    Coordinate waste disposal
    Maintain lab cleaning area
    Maintain accurate records and communicate with the rest of the department
    Updating equipment control records
    Updating housekeeping audits/checks
    Updating risk assessments
    Record materials, equipment and procedures used when assisting with buffer preparation
    Communicating equipment and housekeeping issues to department


    Experience & Qualifications:
    Awareness and understanding of GMP (preferred but not essential)
    Good manual dexterity
    Good IT skills
    Knowledge in the use of basic MS office
    Educated to standard grade level, including Maths, English and a science
    Good communication skills both written and oral
    Have a self-motivated approach to work and be flexible in the day to day activities
