    Job summary

    Applications are invited for a Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) post in Gastroenterologywith an anticipated start date of 7th August 2024.

    This post is for one year initially but with scope to extend by a further 12 months and offers an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking doctor with a strong interest in medical education. Support may also be available to pursue a postgraduate medical education based qualification.

    Main duties of the job

    The post is full time, 10 sessions, compromising of 50% teaching and 50% clinical time. Any out of hours work will be paid at a suppliment as agreed by the Clinical Board.

    The postholder will work at both the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL)

    Teaching is a major component of the role and the successful postholder will work closely with the Specialty Lead and Department of Medical Education to deliver evidence based undergraduate education to Cardiff University School of Medicine medical students following the C21 curriculum. The postholder will also benefit from having an honorary contract with Cardiff University with the title Honorary Lecturer.

    Clinical time will be spent working in Gastroenterology and the timetable for this period will be agreed to enable the appointee to work at a level that is suitable for their stage in training.
