Description
CWA are recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Spring 2023.

This is a varied and interesting role leading on health and safety across all of our campuses, primarily based in King's Lynn but with travel to Wisbech and Milton.

This is a hands-on position, working as part of a small team providing specialist advice and guidance at all levels of the organisation on all health and safety matters from audits through risk assessments to training and everything in between.

CWA is a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving team and in recent years, have grown from strength to strength. We have invested in excess of £27million in our infrastructure including £10million in our tower block alone. We are continually investing in our learners' futures. Our educational provision includes a wide range of courses from building trades to games design. This presents significant health and safety challenges which we take very seriously.

Our Health and Safety Officer reports directly into our Senior Management Team and has the autonomy to drive change, shape training and align work with our vision and values.

We use Safesmart, a Health and Safety platform to hold relevant information such as risk assessments, training materials and to log compliance.

We offer an incredible training package and a chance to work within tight knit and supportive teams.

We offer an excellent package including a generous annual leave allowance of 35 days per year for management staff,
plus five College closure days,
plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time), fee waivers on some College courses, a contributory pension scheme with the Local Government Pension Scheme (current employer contribution is 22.2%), discounts with local businesses and access to a cycle to work scheme.

CWA focusses on staff well-being and utilises both internal and external resources, such as a well-being committee and access to a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme as well as comprehensive training and development.
