Vickerstock are working in partnership with a market leading manufacturer based in Ballymena on the appointment of an experienced Senior Buyer.
Life insuranceThe main purpose of your new role will be to source suppliers who will supply materials at the optimum acquisition cost ensuring quality standards are maintained and departmental goals achieved.
Reporting directly to the Strategic Purchasing ManagerYou will be responsible for maintaining the material cost on the "Bill of Materials" for all products within the commodities you are responsible for and ensuring costs are less than the current sales quotation per contract
Liaise with suppliers on delivery KPI's - such as shortages, quality & invoice queries.
Initiate supplier agreements and see them through to implementation
Actively contribute to New Product Introduction projects
Recover money owed from suppliers for non-performance and warranty claims.
4 years' experience in a senior purchasing role
~ Extensive experience of negotiation and writing supplier agreements
~ Demonstratable experience of cost reductions taken from idea to implementation
