    Job Title: Network Design Engineer - Month Fixed Term Contract

    Function: CIO

    Location: London, Edinburgh – Hybrid working

    Within CIO we are a team of eight SME engineers and architects focused on the entire network and security infrastructure that includes design, engineering, L3 escalations and delivery of projects aligned to Business and Network/Security Strategies and Roadmaps.

    How you'll make a difference

    The Network Design Engineer is responsible for supporting Business initiated projects across all segments of TSB with strong design and configuration focused predominantly on DC LAN (routing and switching) and Edge services (F5, Proxy, Firewalls, DDI)

    You will make a difference in your role by delivering great service to our customers, both internal and external, through strong technical network and security knowledge as part of the Network Engineering and Architecture function within Enterprise Networks for TSB.

    What you'll bring

    Network and Security SME knowledge to help bridge the gap between Business systems and application and Network and Security infrastructure.
  • Great communication skills to gather business and technical requirements to deliver network and security components required by the Business initiated projects.
  • SME technical knowledge across various network infrastructure components (F5 LBs, Network DC, Firewalls, Proxy and DDI) to translate the requirements into a Solution Design Document with high and low level of details.
  • Ability to liaise with various business areas as part of the larger project working group, attend solution design workshops and provide input to technical challenges.
  • Great fault-finding skills to technically support project delivery. Troubleshoot project related issues when deployments don't work as expected.
  • Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment and to balance priorities.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.
  • Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to and when not to escalate issues.
