Are you a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with leadership experience wanting to lead an innovative, enthusiastic and friendly Speech and Language Therapy Team? We are looking for a Team Lead Speech & Language Therapist to work across the whole of Specialist Children's Services.


This post will be based at Harrogate or Northallerton Child Development Centre, with a requirement to also lead the team and have presence across our Hambleton & Richmondshire locality.


The post holder will be responsible for clinical and managerial leadership of Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) within Specialist Children's Services.


Provide support and professional advice for SLT and to the Professional Lead for SLT including specific advice on clinical, speciality and related professional issues.

Be responsible for clinical and managerial leadership of Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) within Specialist Children's Services.


Lead on the analysis and audit of the speech & language therapy service and develop a culture that is responsive to changing need.

He/ she will lead on innovative service delivery and integrate developments in evidence-based practice.


The children's Speech & Language Therapy Service is part of Specialist Children's Services, comprising a team of over 90 members of staff, including administrative support, the autism assessment service, community paediatrics, clinical psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, specialist nursing and speech and language therapy.


Services adopting a 'one team approach' are delivered in two key localities, Harrogate and Rural District (HaRD) locality and Hambleton and Richmondshire (H&R) locality.

Inpatient services are provided in the Harrogate locality for a 7 bedded special care baby unit and a 24 bedded inpatient children's ward.


We are a specialist health service for children and young people age 0-19 years of age with mainly physical, communication, learning and developmental difficulties, affecting their health and well-being.
