About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Head of Adult/Primary Care Nursing to join the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine You will inspire the delivery of a high-quality student experience and inspire staff in both their practice and their development.


You will work closely with the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Education, Head of Adult/Primary Care Nursing, Heads of Department, and other senior colleagues to help shape adult/primary care nursing and all aspects of school operational management and strategy, from marketing and recruitment to alumni relations.

In addition, you will maintain excellent standards in learning, teaching and assessment.

In this role you will lead and develop innovations in contemporary adult and primary care nursing practice.

Specific role responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and effective leadership and delivery of teaching programmes in accordance with university strategy, policy, and procedures.


About You


As Associate Head Adult/Primary Care Nursing, you will be a registered nurse with leadership experience of adult and or primary care nursing.

You will have further experience of working within a higher education setting. You will also have excellent emotional intelligence, whilst being an effective communicator and inspirational leader.

As Associate Head Adult/Primary Care Nursing, you will:

  • Have effective leadership skills, such as influencing, communication and engaging others.
  • Display proven excellence in teaching, assessment and/or evaluation.
  • Be a highly collaborative professional with enhanced negotiation skills.
  • Possess a professional registration with NMC.

It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure for you from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
