As an Apprentice in the Financial Accounting team, you will study towards the AAT Accounting Exams, with the opportunity to progress onto the ACCA exams in the future.


What you'll be doing:
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for the preparation of the financial results for the SJP Group.

The team also prepares and reviews monthly results and regulatory submissions, as well as other financial information required for Board meetings.


As an apprentice in the team, you will provide administrative support across to assist in the timely and accurate delivery of SJP Group's financial results.

You will get a brilliant insight into financial accounting, consisting of journal preparation, financial controls & a wider understanding of both accounting and SJP.

The team has previously had an apprentice who is now a valued member of the team and has flourished over the last three years.


Typical day to day responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing financial information to be input into accounting systems.
  • Support interaction with other group companies.
  • Supports preparation of relevant management accounts.
  • Support the production of regulatory information.
  • Assist in adhoc projects and investigations.
  • Prepare working papers.

Who we're looking for:


We are looking for someone with an interest or basic knowledge of accounting, who is willing to learn and progress within the profession and undertake the relevant qualifications.


Required skills to be successful:

  • Great teamwork
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret numbers and financial information
  • Basic Excel knowledge
  • Strong communication and written skills


If you are interested in role, you will need to hold a minimum of level 4 in English Language and Mathematics.
