Key Duties

  • Contribute to the delivery of the Successful Student Futures strategy by working with colleagues to create learning activities for online and blended delivery which enhance enterprise and innovation knowledge and skills in line with the universityapproved graduate attributes.
  • Deliver groupwork sessions in a wide variety of formats, tailoring materials to the audience as appropriate and focussing on engaging delivery.
  • Facilitate, update, and deliver pathways and toolkits for the Enterprise streams for Student Futures, (both centrally in the Centre for Student Life, in academic Schools and online).
  • Provide professional advice and guidance on resources to support the integration and articulation of enterprise activities, graduate attributes and employability in the curriculum to internal and external customers, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood
  • Investigate and analyse specific issues relating to innovative and entrepreneurial thinking in the student experience, creating recommendation reports, supported by advances within Higher Education and related industries.
  • Contribute to the design and deliver of a new programme to increase student involvement in social enterprise.
  • Collaborate with staff across the Service to ensure successful delivery of our programmes with engaged students and graduates particular emphasis will be on working collaboratively with any existing social enterprise activity in the University.
  • Advise other employees across the University with an interest in employability and enterprise as required
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
  • Complete the required HE training within a specified and appropriate timeframe in accordance with the job requirement.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Education

  • Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Substantial experience of working in a higher education or school environment or on academic projects OR significant experience of working with large organisations, OR experience of working in a social enterprise OR civic mission setting
  • Able to demonstrate professional knowledge or lived experience of employability and enterprise education to give advice to internal and external customers
  • Ability to deliver training and workshops to students in a digital and face to face environment. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is essential
Customer Service, Communication and Team Working

  • Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
  • Evidence of ability to explore customers' needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered
Planning, Analysis and Problem solving

  • Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity, identifying and proposing practical solutions and resolving problems with range of potential outcomes
  • Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within HE, specifically employability and enterprise education
  • Evidence of ability to work unsupervised to deadlines, planning and setting priorities for own work and that of others and monitoring progress.
