    Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Data Governance to oversee and manage their organisational data governance strategy. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and security across all data systems and processes. They will play a crucial role in defining policies, implementing frameworks, and driving best practices to maximize the value and utility of our data assets.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework and strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance requirements, roles, and responsibilities across the organization.
    • Lead efforts to identify, classify, and prioritize critical data assets and ensure appropriate protection and management.
    • Implement data privacy and security measures in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
    • Oversee data stewardship and ownership initiatives, including defining accountability and monitoring adherence to data governance principles.
    • Drive data governance awareness and training programs to foster a data-driven culture and promote understanding of data management practices.
    • Continuously assess and enhance data governance practices through monitoring, feedback, and improvement initiatives.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance matters, providing guidance and support to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data governance solutions are integrated effectively into existing systems and workflows.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in data governance, data management, or related roles within a large organization.
    • Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies.
    • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP) or related areas are a plus.
