    CPS is a joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis. We operate and maintain the M25.

    The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over £100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.

    Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

    The Senior HSW Advisor plays a critical role in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes aimed at managing health, safety, and well-being risks within the project. Acting as a champion for HSW, this role supports the organisation's commitment to being a safe and responsible environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of its people, supply chain partners, and the communities it serves.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day management, guidance, support, and mentoring to other HSW advisors.
  • Act as a visible champion for HSW throughout the project, engaging with operatives and managers to promote a safety culture.
  • Oversee the implementation of organisational standards related to HSW at a local level.
  • Provide feedback on areas of improvement or potential conflicts with business requirements.
  • Monitor the delivery of the communications strategy to keep HSW on the operational delivery agenda.
  • Support the delivery of appropriate and adequate HSW training based on project needs.
  • Support/undertake targeted inspections of HSW management systems and supply chain audits.
  • Track and support actions to close out identified issues.
  • Manage own diary and stakeholder communications to plan, schedule, and conduct inspections and HSW conversations with site & depot-based teams.
  • Prepare and communicate timely reports and presentations detailing performance data on inspection findings.
  • Track and support actions to close out identified issues.
  • Positively represent the Health, Safety, & Well-being function and its strategy during conference calls and meetings.
  • Review work activities against safety systems of work, taking appropriate action and providing documented advice where necessary.
  • Support incident investigations, ensuring incidents are dealt with effectively, and actions are tracked to close out.
  • Qualifications required

  • Professional qualification in health and safety (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and well-being legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
  • Proficiency in report writing and presentation skills.
  • A current CSCS Card
  • Clean, full driving license
  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate project needs for some weekend and night time presence
