    As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, some of your main duties and responsibilities will include:
    • Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
    • Act as discipline focal point as required.
    • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the MoC Process.
    • Checking and approval of documents and engineering design deliverables created by own discipline.
    • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations.
    • Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
    • Carry out site surveys when necessary.
    • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the discipline.
    • Assist in training and mentoring as required.
    • Assist the engineering team and others in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.

    About You

    Our ideal candidate will possess the following experience:
    • Strong knowledge of Drilling equipment.
    • Commissioning knowledge would be advantageous.
    • Experience leading a team of engineers and coordinating work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior / principal engineer looking to step up in their career.
    • Experience in managing team budgets, produce scope estimates and recognising and controlling scope change.
    • Strong experience performing studies, equipment selection reviews, specification, technical bid evaluations and package management of equipment packages in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
    • Understanding of CE/ATEX and UKCA certification of equipment is essential.
    • Experience in producing deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client's policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
    • Experience specifying mechanical package equipment, producing mechanical purchase specifications, datasheets and SDRL's. Evaluate, select and procure replacement and/or upgrades to equipment.
    • Understanding and ability to interpret system Process and Instrument Diagrams, fabrication drawings and schematics is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business but similar transferrable industries skills will be also considered in lieu of specific O&G experience.
    Qualifications:

    Required:
    • BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline.
    • Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking.
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards.
    • Understand the application of Autodesk Design products
    • Excellent written and spoken English.
    • Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
    Preferred:
    • Chartered Engineer status.
    • Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines.
    • Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS M MIST.
    • Exposure to people management.
