- Carry out tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar modelling software.
- Extract information from models and loading into earthworks machinery.
- Managing surveying data such as as-builts, etc.
- Carry out setting-out/surveys in a timely and efficient manner, so as not to impede the construction programme.
- Take off quantities for the ordering of materials and the planned progression of the works.
- Produce ITPs and carry out and record daily quality inspections to ensure compliance with the ITP and specifications.
- Liaise with foreman/works manager to ensure any clashes on site are managed to ensure continuity of work.
- Liaise with support teams e.g. utilities, H&S and Env to ensure all relevant documentation and permits are in place for works.
- Liaise with testing labs to plan and carry out required testing, review results and action accordingly.
- Monitor, analyse and report production outputs to project team.
- Regularly review procedures to ensure efficiency is maintained or bettered.
- Maintain thorough site diary.
- fulfilling Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans.
- Ensuring that all plant, transport, and materials used on the site are of sufficient quality and quantity to complete the task in question.
- Cross-referencing section programme to three weekly programme and ensuring compatibility.
- Working with the appointed quantity surveyors to accurately measure and value the works carried out.
- Ensuring that the site is maintained to the high standard expected by the management of the company.
- The iconic Colne Valley: 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley (architectural images can be found online).
- Chiltern Tunnels – 2 x 16km long tunnels through the Chiltern Hills
- Western Valley Slopes (South Portal) – 2.5km of earthworks including the TBM launching portal and main compound in Maple Cross housing the TBM plant and equipment, main offices, and tunnel/viaduct precast yards.
- 5 x Ventilation Shafts at Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles, Amersham, Little Missenden, and Chesham. Shaft depth between 35m-65m with diaphragm walls up to 80m deep. Headhouses at each location.

Site Engineer – EarthworksMaple Cross
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our self-delivery Earthworks team. Reporting into our Earthworks Package manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the delivery of our earthworks and drainage package. This role will be on a FTC basis until the end of September 2025 with the potential to extend if required.
About our role
Ideally, you'll hold an HNC or a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer in self-delivery works. Setting out experience is essential as well as earthworks, utilities, and drainage.
You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be proactive, an innovator and a collaborative team worker.
