Our current period of expansion is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking to speak to applicants who are interested in joining our R&D team as an Electronics EngineerAs our Electronics Engineer you will assume responsibility for:
~ Working with physicists and other engineering colleagues on the design, development, documentation and practical build of repeating products to meet customer expectations within tight timescales.
~ Experimental set up realisation and measurement of magnetic fields across a range of frequencies from DC (0 Hz) to VLF (3-30 kHz), for both research and technical support purposes.
~ Design, construction, and operation of compensation coil systems for nullifying magnetic fields, and systems for the degaussing of large magnetic shielding enclosures.
~ Working within the team on product development with low noise electronics (Amplifiers, DAQ)
~ Collaborating with universities and external partners in the development of coil technology and other relevant electronics for diverse commercial and research applications
~ Helping to shape the development of an expanding electronics department
~ Opportunity to work on various funded projects, which aim to place the United Kingdom at the forefront of emerging quantum technologies and their applications
~ Hold a relevant engineering degree in the field of electronics engineering
~Excellent analogue and digital fundamentals, ideally with low-noise design experience
~ Practical & workshop experience with a range of electronic measurement and signal generation equipment
~ Excellent IT skills with strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
~ Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously on projects
~ Experience coding with C++/Embedded C, LabView
Excellent understanding for the generation and testing of DC & AC magnetic fields
An awareness of EMI shielding techniques and a familiarity with EMI testing standards, i
e:
MIL-STD or IEEE
Excellent understanding of computer aided design techniques and familiarity with MCAD software such as Inventor
An ability to support off-site work with potential for occasional UK and overseas travel
