Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate transportation routes to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
• Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule and track shipments.
• Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor and analyse transportation data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Address and resolve transportation issues in real-time to minimise disruptions.
• Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
• Work closely with the logistics team to forecast demand and allocate resources effectively.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Transport Planner will have:

• Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar role within the logistics industry.
• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software.
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the transportation industry.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
