    Pre-Construction Technical Manager – West Midlands

    CLIENT

    Linum Consult's client is a large civil engineering specialist currently seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the pre-construction phase of niche projects such as structural repairs and strengthening, post tensioning on civil works, complex temporary works, etc. as well as ECI projects. This role will be based in the West Midlands

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Undertaking the daily management of special projects in their pre-construction phase and ECI projects
    • Understanding and being able to interpret client requirements, and leading the generation of design delivery solutions
    • Providing expert advice and proposing the best solutions, techniques, and construction methods for contracted works
    • Supporting senior management with the tender process for special projects including coordinating with Sales, Estimating, Operations, and Technical Solutions
    • Supporting the department director in the generation of new business leads, bidding for new works, and overseeing technical development activities
    • Developing technical concepts and cost-effective ideas for budgets and prices
    • Supporting the preparation of the design brief, method statements, AIPs and other technical reports
    • Managing and mentoring engineers involved in special projects and ECI projects

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • Chartered with IStructE or ICE
    • Highly technical, specialist civil engineering background
    • Demonstrable history of developing highly technical temporary design solutions
    • Working knowledge of at least one of the following: structural repairs & strengthening, complex temporary works, civils post tensioning, jacking & propping, deck construction, incremental launching, and/or UHPFRC
    • Strong communication and networking skills, with the ability to generate new business opportunities
    • Fluent in English, with the right to live and work in the UK
