    Care Club Leader

    Salary Grade 5 £23,893 FTE £12.38 per hour , term time

    Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 hours per week , weeks per year 45.28

    Hours: 3pm – 5.15pm

    We are a small, rural school in idyllic surroundings near to Stafford and the M6. We are seeking to appoint a Care Club Leader who is passionate about helping children to fulfil their potential, and who wants to join our committed team.

    As the Care Club Leader, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality childcare experience for pupils in the period outside of educational time for working parents in the school.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    ● Plan, organise and deliver a safe before and after school care club that keeps children healthy, active and engaged in learning.

    ● Ensure the smooth transition of the changeover/handover times between school finishing/ starting and the care club finishing/ starting.

    ● Ensure that delivered activities are imaginative, innovative and meet the needs and interests of children aged 4-11.

    ● Provide supervision during snack times that encourage independence, positive social skills and good eating habits.

    ● Provide a safe and caring environment that is in line with Ofsted requirements.

    ● Implement and support the school Behaviour Policies and report misdemeanours to appropriate school staff.

    ● Assist with the general welfare/hygiene of children, including supervision of toileting and washing hands.

    ● Demonstrate the ability to maintain outstanding group management skills to ensure appropriate behaviour, focus, and engagement from all children in a range of activities.

    ● Be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of all children is maintained at all times.

    ● Lead and support additional employees deployed to your Care Club as support staff or absence cover.

    ● Handle customer enquiries and complaints effectively upholding the highest standards of customer service.

    ● Maintain client records and internal systems in accordance with school procedure, policy and statutory requirements.

    ● Build and maintain positive relationships with all key stakeholders liaising with them regularly to ensure they remain satisfied with the service provided; including; students, parents and school staff.

    Other Roles and Responsibilities

    ● Actively promote the work and public image of the club by always maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and adopting a friendly, professional approach.

    ● Actively promoting sports participation and healthy living to the wider community by role modelling healthy lifestyle choices.

    ● Ensure school property and resources are cared for at all times.

    Skills

    ● Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    ● Adaptability.

    ● ICT & computer literate.

    ● Strong planning, time management and organisational skills.

    ● Ability to use initiative and solve problems.

    ● Customer service and relationship management.

    ● Ability to work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to

    demonstrate initiative.

    ● Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide

    range of people.

    ● Good organising, planning and prioritising skills.

    ● Understanding the principals of child development and learning

    processes and in particular barriers to learning.

    Qualifications & Experience

    ● NVQ 3 equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline

    ● Basic numeracy and literacy skills

    ● Enhanced Disclosure DBS.

    ● Paediatric First Aid.

    ● Certificate in Safeguarding Children.

    ● 12 months coaching or leadership experience working with children in a community or school environment or similar organisation.
