We are looking for a motivated pharmacy technician to join our diverse team.As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with the clinical pharmacy team to bridge the gap between pharmacy and clinical area(s).
To help us achieve this, you must be an astute and driven individual to join our busy team.Self-motivated and flexible, you must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within the existing team.
Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients *Deliver a high quality ward based medicines optimisation service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust
*Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members
*Support the pharmacy satellite unit in cancer services
*A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
*Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with post qualification experience within an acute setting
*A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service
*Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity is desirable
This post offers in-service development training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in a clinical role.
A requirement to participate in one evening per week, 1 in 7-12 weekends, and one bank holiday per year on a rotational basis will be necessary.

Evidence of Continued Professional Development.~*Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians
~ BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills
~ equivalent as defined by the General Pharmaceutical Council
Two years' work experience in Pharmacy pre-qualification
*Currently practicing as a band 4 pharmacy technician / equivalent or above with post-qualification experience within an acute setting
*Significant experience within a pharmacy setting
*Experienced in working to policies and procedures
*Significant experience within a hospital pharmacy setting
*Knowledge of practices, policies and procedures associated with the job
*Understands the need for delivering a cost effective service and the required work practices to reduce waste
Experience working as a Clinical Pharmacy Technician or similar capacity
*Deputising for senior personnel, co-ordinating daily work flow including situational staff management
*Participation in the training and mentoring of staff
*Flexible to the demands of the post, the needs of the pharmacy service and other staff
*Keen to improve and develop the pharmacy service and committed to the concept of technician-led services
*Able to demonstrate timely referral to senior staff appropriately
*Ability to travel to other Trust sites
*Flexible to work in accordance with service needs
*Awareness of future developments within Pharmacy
