    2nd Line Support Engineer – Hybrid - Irlam


    I am currently recruiting for an 2nd Line Support Engineer for my Irlam based client, this is an internal based role, working on a hybrid basis.

    About the role


    As a 2nd Line Support Engineer you will be joining a friendly, supportive and high-performing team of web/app development, user experience, infrastructure, and IT service specialists.


    You'll be hands-on with the day to day running and maintenance of systems, and the focal point for our users for whatever problems they may have.


    Working independently, you'll be a skilled problem solver, troubleshooting a variety of technical challenges, assisting with cyber-security initiatives, and taking a positive, proactive approach to your work.


    The role will include:

    • Desktop maintenance (mostly Windows 10, with some Apple and Android devices)
    • Deploying software roll-outs and patches
    • Application/user support – Microsoft Office365
    • Help maintaining enterprise anti-virus solutions
    • Hardware and Software installation / fault finding
    • To create and update in-house documentation for the IT service desk
    • Building and maintaining Windows Server environments
    • VMware Maintenance
    • Windows Desktop Maintenance
    • Windows AD/Group Policy/DNS/DHCP
    • Sharepoint Admin
    • DELL Firewalls/Switches configurations and maintenance
    • Enforcing security practices
    • Monitoring Network and infrastructure with PRTG software
    • Project Work - upgrading infrastructure.
    • Networking both physical and virtual
    • Asset Control
    * 3rd Vendor Communications

    Training in the above areas will be provided if necessary. Please note all technical staff are given a thorough aptitude and technical test during interviews as part of the company's common employment practice
