    Overview

    Legal Counsel (PROPERTY)

    UPTO £90,000 OTE DOE

    Manchester Based/ Hybrid

    Lookers is recruiting for a Legal Counsel (Property) to join its expanding Legal team. You will support our Property colleagues in relation to our varied property portfolio and get involved in a wide range of property legal matters. You will build positive relationships across the organisation and help to create a high performing team where everyone can be their best and thrive.

  • You will deal with a broad range of transactional commercial property work, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, leases and subleases, licences, substation leases and wayleaves, renewals and surrenders.
  • You will become a trusted business partner by building strong relationships with colleagues across different business areas (in particular, the Property function) to encourage early engagement with the Legal team, develop a good understanding of key business priorities and to mitigate legal risk.
  • You will use your property experience to supervise and mentor other members of the Legal team when they need to get involved in property related work and be happy to get involved in other areas of legal work subject to business requirements.
  • Subject to business requirements and capacity, you will support on a broad range of other strategic projects, transactions and commercial arrangements.
  • Skills and Experience

  • Qualified property solicitor with at least five years qualification experience in England and Wales, gained in-house or at a reputable law firm.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships quickly with colleagues and external partners.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and influencing skills with ability to communicate with a positive "can do" attitude and in a clear and simple way.
  • Ability to handle multiple matters, often with competing deadlines and changing priorities, to a high standard and sometimes under pressure.
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability and passion for learning new practice areas and new skills and a willingness to handle unfamiliar legal issues.
