    Description

    The SALIENT Research and Coordination Hub will deliver internationally significant and transformative research that supports the UK's efforts to achieve a secure and resilient world. The hub will deliver impactful, methodologically rigorous and accessible research that informs policy making at all levels and complements wider UKRI 'building a secure and resilient world' (BSRW) investments. The University of Manchester with partners at The University of Sussex, The University of Exeter and The University of Bath recently secured UKRI funding for 5 years to catalyse, convene and conduct research and innovation in support of the UK's efforts to build national security and resilience.

    We are seeking a highly motivated project professional who will provide operational leadership and management of SALIENT, working closely with the hub leadership team, our academic, government and industry partners alongside a team of professional research support staff.

    The successful candidate will support he hub manager and hub programme manager contributing to all stages of set up and management of the Hub including, but not limited to: hub set up, stakeholder engagement, financial management, reporting to key stakeholders as well as the funder and management of the Hub team.

    The post-holder would join an interdisciplinary team working between Engineering and the Social Sciences. They will be part of a vibrant research community, with an outstanding reputation for high quality, impactful research. The group is highly supportive of the career and professional development of colleagues.

    The project will sit under The Thomas Ashton Institute umbrella. The Thomas Ashton Institute for Risk and Regulatory Research (TAI) is a unique strategic partnership spanning faculties within The University of Manchester and the Science Hubs of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

    What You'll Need

    We are looking for a highly motivated person that has experience of coordinating projects and working in a higher education environment and educated to degree level or significant relevant work experience.

    The successful candidate will support the hub manager and hub programme manager on stages of set up and day to day management of the Hub. Supporting tasks such as; stakeholder engagement, financial management, reporting to the funder and key stakeholders and management of the Hub team.

    We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
