The Role:


At VolkerFitzpatrick, we are now recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator to work on our A38 Tame Valley Viaduct refurbishment project.


As the Temporary Works Coordinator you will carry out the management of Temporary Works in accordance with our standards and procedures including BS5975 and Network Rail Standards.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Manage the identification of temporary works requirements on projects.
  • Procurement of temporary works designers in conjunction with the Temporary Works Design function.
  • Management of the temporary works design.
  • Implementation of the temporary works solution on site.
  • The TWC will work closely with the Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) and Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) and the project team.
  • Manage and monitor interfaces with stakeholders that may affect or be affected by the installation, use and dismantling of temporary works.
  • Quality inspections on site.
  • Review / audit temporary works controls and practices on site to ensure compliance with requirements.

Skills & Experience:


  • Relevant Engineering Degree
  • Civil Engineer (or equivalent discipline).
  • Demonstrable experience in Temporary Works design and construction management.
  • Demonstrable experience in the management of high value multidisciplinary rail related contracts.
  • Ideally MICE or MCIOB combined with a strong engineering background.
  • Management of the implementation of significant temporary works on projects
  • Significant managerial and technical experience with a fundamental understanding of the design process and particularly the temporary works requirement.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a Construction environment at a senior level and has a considerable profile of working within the industry.
  • Excellent network and strong reputation within the industry.
