  • The role
  • The role
of our Airfield Operations Planner is responsible for collaborating with Service Delivery to support the Head of Operational Planning in the development of an operational plan for airfield, including stand/gate allocation, special events and airside bussing. This role will provide technical and analytical support to Airfield Control Managers (ACMs) and Airside Operations including seasonal modelling and sensitivity analysis. This role is pivotal to ensuring that any requirements or major events that deviate from the normal operation (eg, runway maintenance, resurfacing works, airbridge outages etc) are robustly planned. There will be a lot of collaboration in this role with Demand Forecasting, Resourcing Planning to Operational delivery teams and Command & control. There is a great opportunity to work with our insights team and help deliver continual improvement incentives across our planning process.
  • What will make you successful in the role?
  • To be successful in this position, you will need operational planning experience in a fastpaced industry, and ideally, similar experience of working in an operational organisation. Strong communication skills are pivotal, as there will be a lot of collaboration across departments, and relationship building will be key to your success. Ability of using and understanding insights/ data to inform planning decisions will be essential as this will help identify opportunities to improve operational planning processes. Strong organisational skills are necessary as you will need to ensure that any essential maintenance or compliance activities are built into the plan and can be undertaken with mínimal operational impact.
