An opportunity has arisen to be a part of The Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust, to be based at Broadgreen site.


The Adult Audiology Clinical Diagnostic and Aural Rehabilitation service of Broadgreen Hospital covers a catchment area with approximately 380,000 of a population.


In this role you will be part of a team that assists in the day to day running of a busy Audiology service.

This will comprise of various tasks including but not exclusively; reception duties, answering phones, booking appointments and general office based administration work.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively with staff and members and the public at all levels. You will also need to be able to prioritize your work in a demanding, changing environment.


The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service working on a rotational basis.


Knowledge and experience of patient administration or appointment booking systems IPM and ICE is essential, along with operational knowledge of the NHS e-Referral Service.


The post holder has responsibility to undertake the full range of duties commensurate with the role (booking/ reception / patient reminder / general) and shall as necessary be flexible in providing cover for absent colleagues in order to maintain service provision.

The purpose of the post is to provide a comprehensive administration and clerical service within Audiology Department.

The post holder will work as a member of a team of clerical staff to provide all of the clerical support to the Department.

To perform front line reception duties

To make appointments for all clinics in Audiology department

To be the administrative support for the Hearing Therapist and Audiologists

The post holder will act as the first point of contact for all Audiology enquiries from internal and external customers at all levels.

Undertake reception duties in a professional, pleasant, tactful and understanding manner. Greet patients upon arrival, check demographic information is up to date on PAS and arrive patient on system.

Giving out batteries, tubes and repaired aids.

To make appointments using PAS and Auditbase (Audiology software), send out appointment letters

Assists with filling cancellation slots (with other clerical staff)

Answers telephone queries

Records changes in patients demographic details on PAS and Auditbase (including deaths)

Writes minutes for staff meetings
