Safety Officer

Location:
Home/Field Based -20% Home Based with travel mainly around Manchester/Liverpool area, but some potential travel requirements throughout England and Scotland


Salary:
Competitive + 10% Bi-Annual Bonus + Company Vehicle


This is a multi-functional hands-on role to drive standards and order around Health & Safety compliance applied in all areas of the operational areas of the business.


Reporting to the Deputy Head of Health & Safety, you will provide excellent support and advice to site staff, developing risk assessments and helping to ensure that H&S legal requirements are adhered to across the organisation.


What are some of the key responsibilities of the role?

  • Helpingto undertake and review project risk assessments
  • Undertaking health & safety inspections across operational sites, including office and warehouse environments.
  • Liaising with line management and engineers, identifying any issues and ensuring a corrective action close out process in followed.
  • Undertaking accident/incident investigations and completing reports that help identify root cause analysis. This will include helping to interview witnesses.
  • Attending Client safety meetings
  • Undertaking relevant H&S Training
  • Promoting a good Safety Culture within the Company

What are we looking for?

  • NEBOSH Certification
  • Experience of undertaking risk assessments and safety inspections/audits
  • Safety training or briefing Tool-Box Talks
  • Ability to work on own, excellent communicator and self starter/motivator
  • Confidence with the ablility to influence site staff regarding H&S and advise and deal with accidents, incidents and potentially difficult situations
