    Job Description

    The Company

Love & Work are our cornerstones. We believe they should be entwined with one another. To achieve this blend, we not only choose to work with clients who want to do things differently, but we build teams that are passionate about working on initiatives that they truly believe in.

Our employees are given the opportunity to develop industry firsts whether that be in the form of a documentary, an activation or the launch of a new concept or partnership. Our alumni have gone on to run their own top 150 agencies and to lead the communications and marketing for well-known global brands. Securing a role with us is a smart and strategic career move.

We look for problem solvers, for creative minds and for individuals who want to change society, influence culture, challenge conformity and push boundaries.

We know that without our employees, we wouldn't be able to achieve what we do. As our many awards and certifications confirm, we are committed to offering an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds are rewarded on merit, have the opportunity to experience integrated communications in its truest form and work on opportunities that due to our connectivity are unique to Freuds. Our culture ensures a sense of belonging for all and we thrive off our ability to support and utilise a diverse range of thoughts and perspectives.

Freuds Group is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to a diverse and representative team. Whatever your race, religion, origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability – we want to hear from you.

    The Team

We are looking for an experienced Strategy Director (maternity cover) to lead our team of strategists, working with some of the world's biggest brands and most exciting start-ups to build strategies that sit at the intersection of insight, culture, and purpose.

Whilst we won't sit across every brief in the business, our team works across the entire Freuds Group – we develop creative communications campaigns for the likes of KFC, Evian and The National Lottery, devise social impact strategies for businesses such as McCain, EY and The Premier League, and work to grow the reputations of companies from Mars to Sony to Dior. Much like our briefs, our team experience is diverse, with talent from a mix of PR, advertising, insight, purpose consultancy, and start-ups. Together, we use this combined experience to learn from one another, play to our passions, and stretch our thinking.

    The Role

As a Strategy Director (maternity cover) , your role will be to lead the strategy team and support the team's delivery of exceptional strategic counsel across our most prominent clients. This involves servicing our senior client briefs, recognising and developing new growth opportunities across the Freuds Group, and nurturing a happy and high-performing strategic team.

Through your role as a strategic leader, you will bring clarity to live challenges, work to push the potential of our outputs and make the work that we do smarter, more effective, and more famous in the real world. You will do this by cultivating a collaborative, insightful and creative culture and by championing diverse perspectives - knowing that these ingredients are key to creating better work and more enjoyable working environments.

Behind you, you will be supported by the unparalleled connectivity and expertise of the Freuds Group, with people and resources at your disposal to strengthen your insights, be a soundboard for your instincts, and grow your knowledge of everything from media to sustainability to technology & AI.

    The successful candidate will be...

    • A confident manager of people who knows how to inspire, empower, and get the best from a team.
    • Have an experienced history in delivering effective strategies across brand, business and creative communications.
    • A great partner to Directors and Partners across the business – able to work together towards shared agency outcomes.
    • Have a proven track record of successful relationships with senior clients, and an ability to influence everyone from the brand manager to the CMO.
    • A strong presenter who develops impactful presentations through simple and creative storytelling.
    • Be well-versed in reviewing creative work and providing constructive feedback to improve and inspire its development.
    • Have a strong awareness and understanding of the media landscape and its influence on the success of our campaigns and creative output.
    • Have an excellent understanding of commercial business and how our work intersects with key metrics, e.g. sales, reputation, innovation, stakeholder engagement.
    • Have an exceptional understanding of marketing and communications theory, and the role communications plays in our clients' broader marketing mix.
    • Be well-versed in measurement and effectiveness.
