The Kitchen Porter will support the efficient operation of the Catering Team via kitchen hygiene, food preparation, washing up, dealing with deliveries and equipment maintenance in our main school kitchen.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
- Experience of working in a catering environment, preferably within a school, or the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly;
- Ideally have at least a Level 2 Qualification in Food Safety in Catering, or the ability to attain it;
- A good team player who is flexible and organised and able to work unsupervised using their own initiative as needed;
- Supportive of colleagues and able to deal skilfully with unanticipated situations;
- Professional and approachable with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read and follow guidelines and instructions;
- Be physically strong so as to comfortably and safely manage the physical aspects of the role, eg lifting, stacking, sweeping, cleaning, mopping, washing up, etc;
- A positive approach to all aspects of the work;
- Supportive of the school's excellent staff attendance and punctuality record;
- Well organised with an adaptable and positive approach to all aspects of the workload.
