    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Sii UK are hiring for a role of Senior Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience based in Stevenage or in any commutable area, as the role requires worked from the office on a daily basis.

    We are aiming to hire 4 Senior Software Engineers in total.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    TASKS:

    The primary activities encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Responsible for requirement verification of military system software capabilities provided at several operator / communication interfaces, in a complex system running several computers providing scenario / system simulations communicating with the Mission Processor black box under test.
    • Work is stored / controlled by the project / change management systems via Doors, team centre, and configured project folders which also provided the guidelines / standards applicable to the project.
    • Detail analysis of the requirements / design documentation / test cases to determine the changes required and the scope of the changes.
    • Write or amend test cases via Doors plus create problem reports / clarifications.
    • Run manual tests on virtual machine using simulator.
    • Run manual tests on development rig (mock-up processor cards in the loop) and develop ground / air / sea environment scenarios as necessary.
    • Run manual tests on actual hardware in the loop (CSIR rigs).
    • All work is peer reviewed, and reviews are stored / controlled via configured project folders.
    • A group of engineers across the disciplines, including team members, perform buddy reviews ensuring an independent review.
    • Dry running test is also performed.
    • Once reviews are agreed and work completed, the test cases are signed-off and configured, ready to be run officially against the software.
