Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Cell Metrology team within the National Measurement Laboratory at LGC, based on Nexus, Leeds.

We are looking for an early career post-graduate cell biologist with flow cytometry experience who can assist in developing and improving quantitative methods for cell-based measurements, feeding into international standardisation initiatives.

Current research efforts are focused on optimising single cell measurements through the use of bio-imaging techniques such as confocal and widefield microscopy and FACS to identify key cell critical quality attributes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic scientist adept in FACS analysis to join a small new team addressing fundamental and emerging cell measurement challenges.

This individual will contribute to the design and development of proposals/projects for numerous customers both public and private sectors.

They will deliver government funded cell metrology research and commercial projects primarily using flow cytometry and cell sorting but also support confocal microscopy and cell culture for multiple projects.
