Tradebe currently require a Transfer Station Supervisor based in Ellesmere Port on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose of the Job

To assist the Transfer Station Manager in the safe, compliant and efficient operation and development of Cheshire Waste Management Centre.

To ensure Tradebe's incoming waste loads are receipted in line with EMS procedures.

To ensure Tradebe's waste load routing, preparation and dispatch is completed to EMS standards, in a timely manner and planned correctly to avoid any non-conformance from receiving sites.

To organise the site chemists & operatives to achieve the above objectives. To complete any other reasonable duty as requested by the Site Manager.

The Role:

To support and control the site's analytical testing and assessment requirements including all regulatory technical issues.
To ensure acceptance and dispatch operations are in line with the company's EMS, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems.
To identify and report on opportunities and trends in the site's technical control/analysis systems, so that the Company can effectively develop its continuous improvement programme.
To raise nonconformances on any incoming loads in line with EMS procedures immediately
To generate load/dispatch paperwork in line with company & legislative requirements.
To coach, train and support the junior Site Chemists and operators to ensure the smooth running of site.
To maintain effective record keeping and documentation, to include the running of the sites stock control system, production records and inprocess records.
To cooperate fully with colleagues in order to support the Company's efforts in growth.
To provide cover for the Site Manager during periods of annual leave, sickness or as required by business needs.

The Person:

Minimum 2 years experience in handling Hazardous Wastes
Degree/HNC in Chemistry or related Chemistry Qualification
Good organisation and planning ability
IT skills Excel / Word / Outlook
Good people skills with the ability to build up relationships both internally and externally.
Effective listening skills along with excellent communication abilities are a necessity.
