The Team
The Associate Director - IT Faculty is a strategic and critical role for IT Services and the University.

You will be working in partnership with the Vice-President, Dean and the Faculty's leadership team to ensure that the IT components of the Faculty's strategy and operational plans form part of the ITS strategic roadmap.

In addition, the Associate Director - Faculty will be an active member in the Research IT Strategy and Change Management Board (RITSCMB); the Teaching and Learning Strategy Group (TLSG) and the Directorate IT leadership team.

The Role
The Associate Director - Faculty will provide IT leadership and management to their assigned Faculty.

Working in partnership with the Faculty Leadership team on a day-to-day basis, you will ensure that the academic, research and professional services needs within the Faculty are aligned to the IT digital roadmap.

This is a new role within IT Services, offered as an initial six-month secondment to trial a new way of working with our University's three faculties.

Initially the role holder will support all three faculties and work closely with our existing IT strategic leadership team.

If we are successful in our approach, we will look to recruit additional post holders and embed this way of working in our operating model.

The Person

You'll have significant experience of working across organisational boundaries in complex environments and be confident in negotiating and influencing at a very senior level.

You'll have experience of working within an IT environment and be well-informed about the HE sector with respect to both its challenges and opportunities.

As an Associate Director - Faculty, you will be capable of managing expectations, differentiating between 'needs' versus 'wants' and arriving at a consensus that will ensure the IT portfolio delivers the Faculty's outcomes in support of the University's overall goals.

As a member of the IT Executive Team, we are looking for a professional who is values-led; blends authentic, emotionally intelligent leadership with technical expertise; and has a proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively at the most senior levels of the organisation.

In such a multi-layered, multi-faceted and multi-stakeholder setting, your professional judgement, insight and ability to influence strategic direction will be key to your success.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.

All appointments are made on merit
