Alexander Steele Recruitment continue to partner this global food manufacturer who supply quality products to some of the worlds biggest food brands.

We are supporting them to find a Production shift leader to join their team in Hertfordshire.

The role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production shift lead will be responsible for the safe use of all equipment by the team, ensuring the team work effectively, and analysing and improving working methods with auditing and re-training.

Ensure the team are trained and have knowledge of food safety and H&S.
Attend monthly H&S meetings
Investigations of any failings to follow H&S or food safety procedures
Ensure all hand overs are communicated effectively
Monitor team performance and highlight and coach improvements
Communicate across departments
Weekly team meetings with discussions about safety, performance and areas for improvement
Review daily production plans
Ensure production waste is recorded and support in reducing waste across the site
Previous experience working in a supervisory role within food manufacturing
Proven leadership skills
Able to operate an automated production system
Experience working to lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to work in a fast paced & pressured environment
Good organisational skills, self motivated and have excellent communication skills
