Position Summary


We have a great opportunity in the Quality team; we are looking for a Quality Specialist to join our Dalston team in Cumbria to support in our production of safe, compliant and first-time right products.

Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé Frothy Coffee, Azera, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate.


A day in the life of a Quality Specialist
As the Quality Specialist, you will report directly into the Factory Quality Manager.

Supporting for the Quality Team to produce safe, compliant and First Time Right product and minimise losses through systems co-ordination and improvement, coaching and verification.


Key activities will be:

  • Support the different laboratories on site when cover is required
  • Manage and prevent quality incidents and consumer complaints.
  • Release Finished Product
  • Provide Certificates of Analysis or Conformance as required by Export Markets.
  • Support activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System and other applicable standards.
  • Minimise losses through systems coordination and improvement, coaching and verification.
  • Support update of area quality systems including HACCP and QMS, including GLOBE master data updates.
  • Promote quality awareness and the commitment to quality across the factory.
  • Support compliance activities within the QA team.
  • Work with the Quality Manager in reviewing and planning quality improvement across the factory.

What will make you successful?


We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person who has experience in a similar quality environment to join the team.


Other key attributes will include:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent. or hold significant experience within a Quality department.
  • You will have had experience driving compliance lead activities.
  • Ideally, you will have experience working within environment committed to continuous improvement and Continuous Excellence techniques.
  • You will have a curious, problemsolving mindset and be a selfstarter
  • You will have taken part in leading part of a change effort within a project team.
  • Been able to establish networks with peers, in markets or factories is key.
