The Opportunity
Are you looking for a 1st step from practice to industry? Or are you currently Company Accountant / Financial Controller in a business but looking for an interesting new challenge?

You'll be joining a profitable and well-established owner-driven group (property and construction industry). It's a diverse and well-ran business with an excellent track record.

Your role is vital - as the primary finance contact for the business the first cab off the rank is bringing all control and reporting in house.

You'll be working with the external accountants to ensure processes and procedures are streamlined and fit for purpose.

You'll also be developing the management accounts pack / MI / commercial reporting to ensure the directors have highly credible and realtime financial information.

You'll be ensuring cash is well-managed, budgets and variance reporting is embedded, year end processes are slick, the bank and balance sheet recs are neat and tidyan all encompassing, varied and autonomous role in a welcoming business.

You need to be someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves in an SME. Your role reports directly to the owners and you need to be confident presenting to senior stakeholders.

You also need to be extremely methodical in your approach to problem solving. Someone who will take enjoyment in systematically mapping new controls and processes and developing the existing month end pack.

You'll ideally be looking for a long term happy home - the Directors would love to find someone with loyalty who will enjoy being part of the long term plan.

You need:

To be a finance professional who understands the requirements of an SME with plenty of moving parts.
To enjoy a hands on role as the number 1 in finance.
To be confident in your ability to deliver highly insightful accounts packs / reports to MD level.
To be someone who enjoys autonomy.
Natural attention to detail and high degree of diligence.
