We are looking to recruit an experienced, flexible Services Support Administrator to join our busy team based at South Doc Services, West Heath Medical Centre, West Heath Road, Birmingham, B31 3HB.
This is a full-time role from Monday - Friday 9am to 5 pm.PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.

Job summary
The post holder is responsible for providing administrative support for services delivered by the organisation, acting as the first point of contact for patients and practices and as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff.

Key responsibilities
- Carry out administrative processes as instructed
- Act as the first point of contact for patients and practices
- Provide call handling for relevant services as instructed
- Handle other telephone and general enquiries, taking messages where necessary
- Ensuring work areas are tidy
- Provide cover for colleagues as appropriate
- Follow and adhere to Health and Safety procedures
- Any other delegated duties considered appropriate for the post
Communication
- Communicate effectively to deliver excellent customer service to patients and practices
- Promote effective teamwork with all staff
- Provide appropriate communication to identify problems and solutions promptly
Special Requirements of the post:
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
Person Specification
Essential
- GCSE English or equivalent Grade C or above
- RSA II typing/word processing or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working in an office environment
- Previous medical receptionist experience
- Experience of using EMIS LV / PCS / Adastra software
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Proficient in reading and writing English
- Able to speak and understand fluent English to receive and issue instructions concerning patients in English and without the risk of misunderstanding
- Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain complete and accurate record systems
- Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good telephone manner
