Job Purpose:
The main role of an
IAG Officer is to empower, engage, build and maintain effective rapport with our participants whilst offering mentoring support to ensure a holistic approach to their progress.
You will support a caseload of participants to reach their goal towards employment, addressing their individual barriers and providing mentoring support along the way.
Our team supports vulnerable young people in North Birmingham, who are not in employment education or training (NEET) to raise their aspiration and achievement levels and improve their employment outcomes.
You will support participants from the first point of contact until they are settled into employment or fulltime training, providing them with Information, Advice and Guidance, specifically around employment in the local construction, landscaping, warehousing and logistics sectors.
Minimum Requirements
IAG level- Safeguarding awareness
- Mental Health awareness
- A minimum of two years' practical experience of Careers Information, Advice and Guidance, ideally with young people.
- Good knowledge of IT
- Experience of delivering classroombased studies

Main duties & responsibilities
- Deliver personalised support to customers via appropriate channels, including the group workshops and facetoface sessions.
- Ensure customers receive a personalized
IAG offer that meets individual needs, to develop career management skills, encourage independence and lead to sustained learning and job outcomes. - Create a tailored Action Plan with the individual, supporting with job searches, training workshops and communitybased programs, being the individuals first point of call for workrelated activities.
- Deliver induction and employability workshops to all NEET young people.
- Deliver weekly one to one support to all NEET young people to create tailored pathways into employment for each young person.
- Monitor the wellbeing and progression of NEET young people using WEBWEMS and Outcome Star.
- Deliver a quality
IAG careers service to young people, ensuring you have thoroughly researched local opportunities and all advice given is up to date and tailored to the individual. - Ensure NEET young people receive appropriate support to progress onto employment, further education or training.
- Monitor participant entry and exit data.
- Maintain quality client records on the organisations database
- Attend job centres and jobs fairs when required.
- Deliver CV writing workshops.
- Deliver interview techniques workshops.
- Deliver job search workshops.
- Organise resilience training for young people.
- Attend monthly team meetings.
