    Description

    Our client is a leading global specialist equipment and systems supplier providing manufacturing, engineering, digital service and equipment enhancement services across the global transportation industry.

    In the UK this market leading organisation has a number of specialist project led equipment systems and component manufacturing, refurbishment and engineering service focused sites supporting market leading demand for their products and services. As the business looks to enhance its operating efficiences, supporting strong customer demand, they have a need for an experienced Operations Director.

    Reporting to the UK Group Managing Director the Operations Director will shape the manufacturing and supply chain systems and processes to ensure they can meet further growth in demand.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Optimisation of site operations encompassing production, assembly and a complex component supply chain, enhancing program delivery
    • Leadership and development of a site management team ensuring accountability and delivery of goals and objectives aligned with the Group
    • Delivery of enhanced financial performance looking to improve margin capability, project execution and overall business profitability
    • Working with stakeholders in the commercial/sales teams to enhance customer experience and delivery through an improved S&OP process
    • Development of existing and future leadership potential driving a culture of continous learning

    What they are looking for:

    Extensive experience leading and managing industrial operations encompassing assembly, project engineering, lean manufacturing and complex component supply chains

    • A demonstrable track record of using Lean/CI that has delivered significant improvements in operational performance
    • Experience leading multi-functional teams working across design, engineering, production, supply chain and quality
    • A straightforward and inclusive leader who sets direction, goals and process expectations that ensure accountability and performance delivery
    • Site P&L experience with an ability to ensure financial information and performance data is translated to leadership and team members effectively
